Mr Josef Roschitsch, your inn and shop with mixed goods was on the opposite side of the school and church. The place where you are posing with the villagers was not on your but on the neighboring church property. The church is gone now, a lonely asphalt playground in its place. Next to it still stands the building that was in your time a public school. If I remember correctly, classes began in 1816 in a private house, until they turned the old parish into the school in 1875 (photograph top right). You printed the postcard in black and white and color versions. It was sent from Nesselthal on the 21st July 1905, when the post office was still in the house of the Postmeisters, Nesselthal 41. The message on the postcard was written in German stenography, which was common for that time. BACK TO COLLECTION
